Poetry Out Loud

The National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation have partnered with state arts agencies of the United States to support Poetry Out Loud, which encourages the nation’s youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and recitation.  This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about their literacy heritage.

Since last year’s Poetry Out Loud competition was such a success, Mt. Ararat will sponsor Poetry Out Loud for the second year in a row.  The program is sponored by English teacher, Emily Vail.  There will be an informational meeting on Weds., October 20 at 2:30 p.m. in room 237.  This is a great opportunity for students to explore their hidden talent!
