2011 Maine Chinese Conference

Mt. Ararat High School had a contingent of people attend the 2011 Maine Chinese Conference in Bangor in October.  The event was sponsored by the Maine Department of Education and Husson University.  Chinese teachers, students, and administrators from across Maine gathered to discuss the importance of Chinese Language and Culture, strategies for teaching and learning, and opportunities to support programming for students.  Participants from Mt. Ararat were students, Adelle Farrar and Pann Nwe, Assistant Principal Donna Brunette, MSAD No. 75 School Board member, Jane Scease, and teacher Xin Yang.  Mt. Ararat received an award for its work in “promoting and teaching Chinese Language and Culture in the state of Maine.”
