Mohamad Musavi, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Maine visited Mt. Ararat on November 10, 2011. Dean Musavi met with approximately 50 Mt. Ararat students who have expressed interest in an engineering career. He also shared information about the excellent job placement potential for engineering graduates with starting salary ranges from $50,000-$80,000 per year. The University of Maine offers a wide variety of engineering programs with a new extension program beginning in September in Brunswick whereby students would spend their first two years studying in Brunswick and spend their second two years studying at the University of Maine campus at Orono. Dean Musavi also discussed excellent scholarship opportunities for engineering students at Orono ranging from $1,000-$15,000 based on academic merit as demonstrated by grades and SAT scores.
